Our last Spring trade show this year was the Texas Home & Garden Show at NRG Center and it was a doozy!
3 days of meeting new vendors, new competitors, and most importantly new customers.
This was our first Texas Home and Garden Show and we really had a wonderful outing. The staff at NRG is always so welcoming and really goes out of their way to make sure the show is a success for everyone involved. My personal favorite is Rose, the security guard who works the backdoor entrance for vendors, she is always a welcome sight every morning when you arrive and is quick to give her blessings on you whenever she can.
This was the long show for Truwin. It started on Friday and ran until Sunday, which is rare for a trade show but was well worth it in my opinion. Sometimes the extra days of exposure at shows like these keep us on our toes and refresh what it really means to be a transparent company.
Friday was successful in networking purposes mostly. Yes, we had a few appointments set by prospective customers but it was our competitors whom I mostly enjoyed meeting and learning from. For instance, I had the pleasure of meeting a gentleman by the name of Gary who works for Renewal by Andersen. We had a great conversation about how we got to be in the Windows & Doors business and what we were looking forward to in 2019. A few hours later Gary escorted a prospective customer down to chat with me about windows because he had determined through his conversation that Renewal was not going to be a good fit for him and he wanted the customer to get the best service he felt they needed and Truwin was it!
Saturday was the long day out of the 3 days. Started at 10 am and ran until 6 pm. It seemed to go by quickly though because it was busy the whole time. Lots of great appointments set that day and good conversations regarding new projects, new home builds, and just general window and door education which is what Truwin loves to provide.
Sunday was equally as busy as Saturday in the morning but lightened up later in the afternoon and was a breeze by 4 pm so we started to pack up a little early and call it a very successful weekend.
All in all, the Texas Home & Garden Show was definitely a very successful show for Truwin and we can’t wait to get back there in the fall…and possibly in June if we get a wild hair to join the mid-year show as well.
